Central head baseball coach Sham Gabehart has been suspended by the LHSAA for the remainder of the season including playoffs for his conduct during a recent game.
Last Saturday during a double-header at Calvary Baptist, Gabehart came out of the dugout to argue a call and began removing his uniform. He threw his hat and two shirts, standing barechested near the third baseline. LouisianaSports.net obtained video of the incident.
The school’s principal Brandon LaGrue announced the suspension Wednesday in a letter to the players’ parents that was obtained by LouisianaSports.net.
“This afternoon the LHSAA notified us that they have suspended Coach Gabehart for the remainder to the baseball season including all post-season contests and practices. This is a developing situation, and we regret that we did not have the opportunity to schedule a parent meeting to deliver this information,” he wrote.

Central lost 8-7 to St. Amant Friday in the first game of a best-of-three Division I non-select bi-district playoff series. The teams will play game two Saturdya with if necessary game three to follow.
