LSU’s most versatile weapon is headed to the Windy City.
Zavion Thomas was selected by the Chicago Bears with the 89th overall pick in the NFL Draft on Friday.
Thomas did a little bit of everything as a Tiger. The Woodmere, L.A., native accounted for 1,722 all-purpose yards over two seasons with the program. He caught 64 passes for 706 yards and added 175 rushing yards. In 2024, he led the SEC in kickoff return yards.
Including special teams scores, Thomas reached the endzone 11 times between stints at LSU and Mississippi State where he started his career.
At the NFL Combine, Thomas ran a blazing 4.28 40-yard dash which turned some heads. Many pre-draft projections had the speedster projected in the later rounds. Chicago didn’t wait that long.
