LSU basketball coach Will Wade wasted no time targeting the country’s top players.
LSU landed its second top-15 recruit in the Class of 2027 class on Thursday when Reese Alston picked the Tigers over Louisville, Kentucky and Tennessee.
Alston is the No. 9 player in the nation and No. 3 guard according to Rivals. He’s a native of Houston who plays at Second Baptist.
The 6-foot-3 guard visited LSU in early September and followed that with visits to Kentucky and Tennessee. Ultimately, the Tigers were the pick.
Alston joins fellow five-star guard King Gibson in LSU’s current recruiting class. With Ahmad Hudson, who is committed to the football program but plans to play both at LSU, Wade’s first high school class is among the best in the country.
The Tigers begin the 2027-28 season on Tuesday against LSU-New Orleans.
