Derek Stingley Jr.’s generous donation is making a difference at his high school alma mater.
The Dunham School in Baton Rouge announced Thursday that it will install a new turf practice field on campus to be named the “Derek Stingley Jr. Field.” Construction will begin in the coming weeks, and it is expected to be ready for the upcoming school year in August.

Stingley’s lead gift, the largest in school history, helped make the field possible.
Dunham will use the surface for football practice, P.E. classes and other training needs for its students.
Stingley starred at Dunham where he developed into a five-star prospect and a top 10 player in America in the Class of 2019. He moved on to LSU where he become an All-American and was a key piece to the 2019 national title team as a true freshman. After three seasons as a Tiger, Stingley became the No. 3 overall pick in the NFL Draft by the Houston Texans. He’s gone on to become an All-Pro at the highest level and signed a three-year, $90 million extension.
