While LSU searches for pitching answers in a dismal season, it’s two aces from 2025 are sizzling.
Kade Anderson and Anthony Eyanson are flying through the minor league systems in their first professional seasons. Anderson was the No. 3 overall pick of the Seattle Mariners in July. Boston selected Eyanson in the third round.
Both organizations must be thrilled.
Kade Anderson awesome again. Final line: 5.2IP, 2H, 1R, BB, 9K, 22 whiffs, 75 pitches, 49 strikes.
In his first 6 professional starts:

Anderson started the season in Double-A at Arkansas. He’s made six starts and has worked 30 innings of two-run baseball. That’s a microscopic ERA of 0.60. The southpaw has struck out 47 hitters and walked just five.
Eyanson has been just as good. He began his season in High A and has been promoted to Double-A. Over those two stops in Portland and Greenville, Eyanson has made six starts with a 0.74 ERA. He’s struck out 38 and walked four. He was also clocked at 100 mph in spring training.

A strong case could be made that Anderson and Eyanson formed the greatest 1-2 punch in LSU history for the 2025 national title team. Both finished in the top three nationally in strikeouts as Tigers, and they haven’t slowed down in professional ball.
It’s just a matter of time before both hurlers make the big leagues.
