The SEC Baseball Tournament sent all the teams from Texas packing, and whittled the field down to four.
ABS Update
The numbers continued to come down in favor of the umpires.
Yesterday, there were only four successful ABS challenges out of 12. The 33 percent challenge rate was not only the lowest of the tournament, but it was the first time it dipped below 50 percent for a single day.
The total challenge success rate for the umpires is now 55.8 percent (48-for-86).
Texas teams get hammered
Texas and Arkansas met in the early game and Arkansas continued to blitzkrieg teams out of the gate. They took a 3-0 lead in the first inning and never looked back, winning 8-1 over the Longhorns.
Camden Kozeal went nuts, going 3-for-4 with two home runs and four RBIs. His first inning two run bomb was effectively the game winner, but the one he hit later was the most impressive. In the second inning, he hit a 450 foot towering shot that cleared the batter’s eye in center field.
The Hogs got a phenomenal appearance from RHP Gabe Gaeckle, who came in to throw six shutout innings and allowed just three hits while striking out nine.
Did I mention Camden Kozeal is a good ballplayer? That’s two more homers today and this one left the bat at 111 and traveled 450 feet.

The night cap was just as bad, as Auburn spanked Texas A&M 7-0.
Auburn once again showed why it may have the best pitching staff in the country, becoming the first team all season to shut out Texas A&M. Auburn held the Aggies to just two hits and advanced to the SEC Tournament semifinals for the first time in 23 years.
