The New Orleans Saints will have a busy preseason beyond their exhibition matchups. Per head coach Kellen Moore before the team’s second OTA practice, the team will hold joint practices with all three of their preseason opponents.
The Saints will host the Jacksonville Jaguars at their Metairie, La. facility ahead of the preseason opener. Then, the team will hold practices with both the Los Angeles Rams and Dallas Cowboys the week before their game with the Rams on the West Coast.
New Orleans will then travel back to their home facility before eventually heading to take on the Cowboys in Dallas the following weekend.
Moore spoke highly of the opportunity to test his club against the top talent of opposing teams in a practice environment.
“These joint practices, I believe in them,” he said. “Just my exposure to them as a coach, and it gives you a chance to get really good work with, particularly, your starters and your number ones. I think a lot of it comes down to teaming up with the right other organizations, and I feel like we got that this year.”
The Saints had been targeting joint practices all offseason long and went all in once they got the chance.
