After an offseason of negotiations and talks, the New Orleans Saints are expected to bring back one of their franchise fixtures on a one-year deal.
Per NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport, the Saints and defensive end Cameron Jordan agreed in a deal to bring him back to New Orleans for 2026.
After morning talks reportedly progressed well, the team and their 15-year stalwart landed on an incentive-heavy contract that will likely make it so that Jordan finishes his career in the Big Easy, as he has so often made clear he desires.
Jordan played on an incentive-heavy contract last year as well and finished with 10.5 sacks, earning each of his pay bumps along the way.
He now returns to a room with familiar faces such as Chase Young and Carl Granderson but that now also features new additions like Anfernee Jennings and Tyree Wilson.
This move provides a positive jolt for a team that was en route to losing a considerable amount of veteran leadership, especially due to departures on the defensive side.
Jordan’s return will go a long way toward boosting the experience and leadership potential on the roster.
