A year after not taking a high school running back, LSU has three.
A day following Tre Segarra’s commitment, Winnsboro native Trey Martin picked the Tigers, too. Martin is considered the No. 10 running back in the country by Rivals and the No. 7 player in the state of Louisiana. He’s the fifth in-state pledge to the class.
Martin stands 6-feet tall and is already north of 200 pounds as a rising senior. He chose the home state Tigers over aggressive pushes by Florida and Ole Miss who have significant Louisiana ties on their staffs. Jon Sumrall comes from New Orleans where he coached Tulane. Frank Wilson has recruited Martin to LSU and Ole Miss over the last three years.
LSU now has three tailbacks in the class.
