A second LSU signee has spurned the MLB Draft.
Nathaneal Davis, an outfielder from Orlando, announced Monday that he will be pulling his name out of July’s draft and will be enrolling at LSU this summer.
The left-handed hitting outfielder was the MVP of the Under 16 World Series two years ago and is currently considered one of the top 150 prospects in this draft class. He’s an elite runner with some pop in his bat and could immediately challenge for time in the outfield, especially as a defender.
William Patrick returns for his sophomore season, and the Tigers have added Jason Wachs and Bino Watters in the portal. Jay Johnson prioritizes left-handed hitters, and Davis joins Wachs and Watters in that department.
LSU has had great success with elite high school prospects that have out of the draft in recent years. Derek Curiel and Omar Serna come to mind.
Davis and Braxton Beaty have already made that decision in this loaded high school draft.
