Some disappointing news to begin the update.
Both Jack Ruckert and William Patrick are very likely done for the summer after suffering hand injuries. Sources tell LouisianaSports.net that the injuries are not deemed to be “really significant” and that both should be ready for fall baseball.
Patrick on got 41 at bats in his freshman season. Ruckert got 69. To begin the Summer in Healdsburg, they were hitting first and second in the lineup for the Prune Packers to maximize at bats. Unfortunately, that didn’t work out as planned.
They did get some work in, but it was cut short. I beleive Reagan Ricken, another Tiger sophomore-to-be is also done on Cape Cod.

Park has played two games at second, three at third and eight games at shortstop. I do think it’s important for him to play shortstop in front of the scouts so that they know he can do it for next summer’s draft. He’ll very likely settle in at third in Baton Rouge. He has not made an error in 47 chances this summer. That’s awesome stuff.
Bino Watters is having an exceptional summer on Cape Cod. This guy is a player, and he’s showing it against topflight pitching with a wooden bat. He’s not slugging a ton, but Jay Johnson said he was going for complete hitters. He found one.
Bino Watters (@LSUbaseball) stays through this one and drives it up the middle for the knock. The 6’2”, 215-pound LHH has shown power to all fields and continues his solid start for the @ChathamAnglers.

Jason Wachs has a poor batting average, but getting on base at a .355 clip is not bad on Cape Cod. He’s got five steals and did homer.
It hasn’t been a great few weeks for Cade Kurland, but he his errorless in 10 games at second base. LSU’s Cape Cod defensive infielders have been perfect.
With the draft this weekend, hopefully Guidry and Garcia hear their names called. Both would like to begin their professional careers. Garcia has had a really good month. Guidry’s strikeout numbers are really high. Everything else has been a struggle.
