Kevin Gausman and Alex Bregman missed each other by a year at LSU.
They’re now together with the Chicago Cubs.
The former LSU ace was dealt to the Cubs on Sunday night marking his sixth team in 14 seasons in the major leagues. Gausman sports a 4.38 ERA for Toronto in 23 starts. That’s the most starts in the American League. He’s struck out 127 hitters and walked 36.

The Cubs were targeting plenty of the top arms on the market and settled on Gausman who has carved out a stellar MLB career. He started a pair of games for the Blue Jays in the World Series last year.
Gausman was the 4th pick of the 2012 MLB Draft. Bregman went second overall in 2015. They were earliest draft picks of the Paul Maineiri era at LSU.
