New Orleans Saints rookie wide receiver Brock Rechsteiner has been suspended for six games by the Commissioner, per 33rd Team NFL Insider Ari Meirov.
The wideout entered the league as an undrafted free agent out of Jacksonville State after impressing as a tryout player with the Saints during rookie minicamp. He continued to stand out during the team’s offseason practices and was looking to build on that momentum as training camp kicked off at the end of July.
Since camp began, his time in New Orleans had been relatively quiet up until this announcement, with fellow rookie wide receiver Barion Brown taking the spotlight at the position.
There have been no additional details linked to the suspension shared at this time, but Rechsteiners has been permitted to continue taking part in all preseason activities, including games.
Rechsteiner will continue to practice with the team throughout the upcoming training camp sessions. New Orleans is already down a pair of wide receivers with Mason Tipton still recovering from an offseason surgery compounded with Ja’Lynn Polk’s surprising retirement announcement.
