The New Orleans Saints are getting ready to conduct their third and final joint practice, this time against the Los Angeles Rams, the same team the Saints will also face on Saturday’s preseason matchup.
As the two teams get ready to lock horns in their practice showdown, here are a few players to watch.
CB Martin Emerson Jr.
With cornerback Quincy Riley out with a groin injury, veteran cover corner Martin Emerson Jr. is likely to be the corner asked to step into the role.
The 6-foot-2, 201-pound cornerback is physical and makes great plays at the catch point. He’ll draw some big matchups against the Rams’ receiver corps and will see a test immediately if quarterback Matthew Stafford is on.
T Kelvin Banks Jr./Taliese Fuaga
Sort of cheating for this one, but it’s likely that both tackles will draw premiere matchups throughout the day.
After a day of extra work with Saints Hall of Famer Terron Armstead after the Cowboys joint practice, seeing these two continue to develop is a key for the offseason.
WR Bryce Lance
Both rookie wideouts could be on this list but the recent curve by Bryce Lance is hard to miss.
He’s gone from making tough catches in the short area to opening up as a three-level threat. With wideout Jordyn Tyson sidelined for the next two months, Lance is one of the faces the Saints will be turning to for added depth on the team and to dial up some explosive plays.
