It was undefeated Week 1 in the SEC, but for the most part the slate was incredibly underwhelming. That changes this week, as the first conference game of the season will be played, with eight of the 15 games in the league will be played against Power Four opponents.

Alabama at Kentucky | Alabama -10.5 | O/U 49.5
Alabama heads to Kentucky in a sneaky-tough spot for the Tide. They will most likely be without their best offensive lineman Michael Carroll. Kentucky is the most mysterious team in the SEC. The Wildcats looked great last week against Youngstown State, but the bad news is that all the matchups with Kentucky’s strengths pair with Alabama’s strengths as well. Kenny Minchey is going to be really good at quarterback for the Wildcats, but he will face the best secondary in America on Saturday. And, the run game looked great against an FCS team, but Alabama’s front seven was much better than advertised in Week 1.

Tennessee at Georgia Tech | Tennessee -12.5 | O/U 55.5
This may be the lock of the week. Georgia Tech struggled to move the ball against Colorado in its first game of the season. They also didn’t record an offensive touchdown, with the only time they found the end zone was on a kickoff return. Tennessee fans will take over the most underrated and aesthetically pleasing venue in America, Bobby Dodd Stadium. The Vols recorded six sacks in their first game of the year, and Fernando Mendoza’s brother (Alberto) will once again be running for his life.
Expect a big game out of Vols WR Mike Matthews, who grew up 20 miles east of the stadium at legendary Parkview High School.

Arizona State at Texas A&M | Texas A&M -14 | O/U 50.5
Arizona State has taken an SEC team from Texas down to the wire before. This will be the Sun Devils’ Super Bowl, but something tells me Marcel Reed will be much improved from last week. Arizona State’s players said they were hungry for respect this week. Jokes on you idiots because Mike Elko is literally always hungry. Give me the Aggies.

Oklahoma at Michigan | Oklahoma -5.5 | O/U 43.5
The idea that quarterback Bryce Underwood is just going to magically improve from last week to this week against Oklahoma is a joke. What’s even funnier is the idea that the team scored on its first and last possessions to beat lowly Western Michigan by one point. In between those touchdown drives were eight other series that included: six punts, one interception, one fumble, and five three and outs where they gained less than seven yards in three plays.
Give me Oklahoma.

Game of the Week
Ohio State at Texas | Texas -1.5 | O/U 49.5
Texas has shut down Jeremiah Smith both times they’ve faced him in the last two games against Ohio State. The future top NFL draft pick has a combined seven catches for 46 yards against the Longhorns. This will be a massive game for the psyche of Texas. A loss to the No. 1 team in America is understandable for anyone. But, a third consecutive loss to another blue blood, who has seemingly achieved everything, would be a pretty massive blow to the confidence of Texas.
Texas spent $50 million on its roster for two things, a national title and a win over Ohio State on Saturday night. The first part of that To Do List gets crossed off Saturday night in Darryl K. Royal Stadium.
