Social Media Reacts: LSU loses to Alabama in embarrassing fashion

It happened again. Tale as old as time. Alabama walked into Tiger Stadium and won against an LSU team. This one was perhaps even more frustrating than some of the others in the past. It was the largest regular season point spread Alabama was an underdog in since 2008. That game resulted in an 11 point win against Georgia. This one resulted in an 18 point win against LSU.

It was a shocking loss. Afterwards, social media reacted as you would expect. Here were some of our favorite tweets.

An absolutely embarrassing, gutless performance from the Tigers

WILD BUT TRUE:

Alabama ran just 50 total plays tonight and scored 31 points.

LSU ran 48 plays in Alabama territory alone and managed just 13 points.

That's INSANE. 😳 https://t.co/DdLhbBHPqu pic.twitter.com/E88edoUfei

LSU outgained Alabama 457-281.

And lost by EIGHTEEN points.

Since 2000, only 14 FBS teams have outgained an opponent by 175+ yards and lost by 18+.

The last? TCU, exactly 11 years ago today.

This time…LSU stats:

LSU is the first college team since West Virginia in 2004 to lose by 18 or more in a game where they had 450+ yards and held the opponent under 290 yards. https://t.co/UVWlMDXogi

#LSU had the ball in Alabama territory 8 times. The Tigers got 13 points to show for it. 1.6 points per visit.

Meanwhile Alabama had the ball 5 times inside of LSU’s 25. 4 TDs 1 FG.

31-13 Bama.

LSU paid Lane Kiffin $90 million to do exactly what Brian Kelly did (if not worse)

It's November in Lane Kiffin’s first season at LSU and the Tigers still don’t have a ranked win this season.

The lead official for the Alabama-LSU game will be Daniel Gautreaux, who I commonly refer to as Gomer Pyle.

Gautreaux is originally from Lafayette, Louisiana and currently resides in Scott, Louisiana. Scott is located less than an hour away from Baton Rouge.
