NEW ORLEANS – Week 9 approaches as the New Orleans Saints look to begin their turnaround after a 2-5 start to the 2026 NFL season, taking on the Cleveland Browns.

Ahead of that matchup, the Saints announced a flurry of roster moves, including activating two key offensive contributors and a surprising release.

The Saints announced on Saturday afternoon that they have:

The activations of Tyson and Banks are major steps forward in the team’s health situation. Tyson has been sidelined with a hamstring injury since Aug. 13, while Banks has been sidelined with an ankle injury that required surgery after the Week 2 win against the Baltimore Ravens.

Banks’ rapid recovery is a surprising one considering he is only seven weeks removed from the surgical procedure that was necessitated by the injury.

Miller was a pleasant release and continues the team’s pursuit of revamping its rushing approach. Meanwhile, Welch has been the subject of procedural moves in the past, he will be one to watch to return to the team if a spot opens on the active or practice squad roster following Sunday’s game.

White has a chance to contribute to the rushing attack alongside backs Alvin Kamara and Audric Estime while Smyth takes over as the team’s kicker after moving on from veteran Daniel Carlson after the bye week.
