The New Orleans Saints’ playoff hopes are fading fast, and oddsmakers are giving them little chance of turning things around.
According to the latest odds from BetOnline Sports & Casino, the Saints have just a 9.1% probability of reaching the postseason, down 22.2 percentage points from their preseason projection. New Orleans opened the season at +180 to make the playoffs, but those odds have plummeted to +600 through eight weeks. Even more remarkable is the state of the NFC South, where not a single team is currently favored to reach the postseason despite the division champion being guaranteed a playoff berth. The Carolina Panthers lead the division’s playoff odds at 31.2%, followed by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers (33.3%) in the sportsbook’s listed probabilities, Atlanta Falcons (23.5%) and Saints (9.1%). For New Orleans, the path to January football is looking increasingly unlikely.
