The New Orleans Saints kick off training camp in just over a week, but the work towards the 2025 regular season is already well underway for many players.
Among them, quarterback Spencer Rattler and wide receivers Chris Olave and Rashid Shaheed participated in a throwing session in Arizona.

Rattler had to miss a session that included numerous pass-catchers and quarterbacks earlier this month, but did so in order to attend his youth football camp in Columbia, S.C.
In the video posted to Instagram, the quarterback can be seen throwing passes to his two top receivers on a variety of routes including downfield passes to both speedster wideouts.
Per a source with knowledge of the session, Rattler took the lead in organizing workouts. There will be multiple days of work among the passer and his receivers.
Rattler is competing to be the Saints’ starter at quarterback to open the season. Building chemistry with his wide receivers is an imperative part of his process as he and rookie quarterback Tyler Shough continue to improve and develop.
The second-year passer started six games last year, but only had a healthy Olave for a pair of games (Weeks Six and Eight) and a healthy Shaheed for one (Week Six). All told, the two receivers were only able to see 13 targets from Rattler in 2024, with five being caught for 65 receiving yards.
Without much opportunity to get a rhythm last year, doing so ahead of the 2025 season is a valuable move by the trio.
