NEW ORLEANS, La. – Expect this to be a theme all season. The New Orleans Saints announced a pair of practice squad roster moves involving two familiar faces.
The team announced Tuesday afternoon that quarterbacks Jake Haener and Hunter Dekkers have been signed back to the practice squad.

Both passers have been involved in several transactions already this season and it seems likely that they will be a part of the roster management mechanism for the team throughout the season, à la former Saints quarterback J.T. Barrett, who was once the subject of 23 transactions in a single season with the team.
This move now serves as Dekkers’ seventh transaction (four signings and 3 departures) since joining the team as an undrafted free agent following the NFL Draft. For Haener, it’s his sixth transaction of the year (three signings from free agency, one signing from the practice squad and two departures).
New Orleans had two spots available on its practice squad at the time of this announcement. One was opened with the earlier signing of tight end Jack Stoll, the other was opened when DE Fadil Diggs was signed up from the practice squad ahead of the season opener.
It seems likely, with safety Julian Blackmon expected to head to injured reserve with a shoulder injury (a reported torn labrum), safety Terrell Burgess could be signed to the 53-man roster. That could open a spot for Diggs to return after being waived this week.
