The New Orleans Saints are back on the practice field getting ready for their Week 7 matchup with the Chicago Bears.
The run game is poised for a strong showing against one of the league’s weakest rush defenses, but a key absence raises questions about whether the team can fully capitalize on the matchup.
Not seen during the open portion of Saints practice on Wednesday:
- CB Isaac Yiadom (hamstring)
- RB Alvin Kamara (ankle)
Kamara’s absence may first inspire panic, but head coach Kellen Moore did open his Monday press conference by saying that there were no big medical updates.
This may be more connected to the previous injury Kamara suffered during the New York Giants game, which forced him to be day-to-day and limited early during the practice week. Kamara was listed as “questionable” going into last weekend’s matchup with the New England Patriots.
As Yiadom’s absence continues, rookie Quincy Riley may be in line for another start in Chicago. The fourth-round rookie started his first game last week against the New England Patriots. He looks to be in line for his second career start.
