After a career-low performance, New Orleans Saints quarterback Spencer Rattler has been the subject of many conversations. Those talks continued as head coach Kellen Moore took the podium on Monday for his day-after media availability.
Moore was peppered with questions about potentially making a quarterback change to rookie passer Tyler Shough after the weekend’s loss to the Chicago Bears and the team’s 1-6 start.
“It’s week-to-week,” Moore said when asked about making a change. “We’ll see as we go. We’re focused on getting better right now. We’ve got to get better. Spencer obviously had a game where turnovers occurred, we got to respond.”
Here’s the full exchange with Saints HC Kellen Moore on QBs Spencer Rattler and Tyler Shough.
The summary:
– Rattler is still the starting QB while Shough develops with the scout team
– Moore will take it week to week when evaluating if it’s time to move to Shough.@WWLTV pic.twitter.com/XGOXOv6OKq

Moore left the door open for a potential quarterback change at some point in the season, but didn’t leave much question about Rattler getting his chance to respond for a down game against the Bears.
It appears that Rattler will get the start in Week 8 against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, allotting him a chance to bounce back after the Week 7 loss and four-turnover performance.
