METAIRIE, La. – It was another day of full attendance for the New Orleans Saints on Wednesday despite some big names on the injury report. As the team braces to get going with rookie Tyler Shough receiving his first start against the Los Angeles Rams, there will be some names to follow throughout the week on his side of the ball.
Here is the information from the Saints’ first injury report of Week 9:
New Orleans Saints
Limited Participation
- RB Alvin Kamara (ankle)
- RB Devin Neal (ankle)
- WR Rashid Shaheed (hip)
- CB Alontae Taylor (shoulder)
Full Participation
- TE Juwan Johnson (neck)
- WR Chris Olave (ankle)
The Saints are managing a pair of injuries at running back now between Kamara and Neal. Their progress over the week could set up recently-acquired back Audric Estime with a chance to contribute from off of the practice squad in Los Angeles. Neal participated throughout the open portion of the practice period while Kamara left after the stretch period. Kamara was limited all week with an ankle injury last week and still took a wealth of snaps during the Week 8 game.
Shaheed and Taylor will be worth monitoring, as well. The wideout could be a big factor in Shough’s potential success against the Rams. Meanwhile, Taylor will play a key role in trying to limit an explosive Los Angeles offense.
Los Angeles Rams
Limited Participation
- OL Rob Havenstein (ankle)
- S Kamren Kinchens (toe)
- WR Puka Nacua (ankle)
- CD Darious Williams (shoulder)
The key name for the Rams is Nacua. The wide receiver is expected to be back on the field this week after missing Week 7 ahead of the Los Angeles bye last week. he and fellow wideout Davante Adams will provide a real challenge for the Saints’ young secondary.
The story was updated at 8:40 p.m. CT to reflect the Rams’ updated injury information.
