METAIRIE, La. – There was only one change for the New Orleans Saints’ injury report on Thursday, and it was one that everyone knew was coming. No upgrades or downgrades took place from Wednesday, the only addition was a scheduled absence that recurs every Thursday.
Here is the information from the Saints’ first injury report of Week 9:
New Orleans Saints
Limited Participation:
RB Alvin Kamara (ankle)
RB Devin Neal (ankle)
WR Rashid Shaheed (hip)
CB Alontae Taylor (shoulder)
Full Participation:
TE Juwan Johnson (neck)
WR Chris Olave (ankle)
Did Not Participate:
DT Davon Godchaux (NIR-rest)
With Godchaux not seeing many third down plays (only 17) in defensive coordinator Brandon Staley’s system, the day serves as a veteran rest day each week.
Kamara, who left after the stretch period on Wednesday, remained and participated throughout practice on Thursday. Meanwhile, Neal, Shaheed and Taylor continued to participate while managing their injuries.
With just one day remaining of practice ahead of their clash with the Los Angeles Rams on Sunday, the Saints are looking healthy again across their active roster.
Los Angeles Rams
Limited Participation
- OL Rob Havenstein (ankle)
- S Kamren Kinchens (toe)
- CD Darious Williams (shoulder)
Full Participation:
- WR Puka Nacua (ankle)
The only change for the Rams is the upgrade for Nacua, who is recovering from an ankle injury. The injury kept him sidelined for the team’s Week 7 game against the Jacksonville Jaguars ahead of the bye week. Now, he’s trending to being back on the field just in time to take on the Saints.
That’s sure to provide a big challenge for the New Orleans secondary, which is full of young talent.
The story was updated at 7:16 p.m. CT to reflect the information from the Rams’ injury report.
