METAIRIE, La. – Two names have been added to each the New Orleans Saints and Carolina Panthers’ injury lists following Thursday’s practice. For New Orleans, one player saw his weekly rest day while the other was limited with a new injury.
Here is the information from Thursday’s injury report:
New Orleans Saints
Did Not Participate
- T Taliese Fuaga (ankle)
- DT Davon Godchaux (NIR-rest)
Limited Participation
- RB Alvin Kamara (ankle)
- TE Jack Stoll (ankle)
- DT Bryan Bresee (back)
Full Participation
- QB Taysom Hill (knee)
- DE Cameron Jordan (ankle)
- T Barry Wesley (hip)
- DE Jonah Williams (shoulder)
Bresee, who received some stellar compliments from defensive coordinator Brandon Staley after practice, was limited with a back injury. He was spotted in the locker room after the team’s on-field work was done. With him just having been limited, it may not cost him Sunday’s game against the Panthers, but could at least raise questions about his availability pending Friday’s update.
Bresee has made a lot of strides as a run defender, one of his biggest “knocks” throughout his draft process. This week, that could be a very important going up against Carolina’s explosive run game.
Carolina Panthers
Did Not Participate
- G Chandler Zavala (elbow)
- WR Brycen Tremayne (hip)
Limited Participation
- RB Rico Dowdle (quadricep)
- DT Derrick Brown (elbow)
Full Participation
- S Lathan Ransom (illness)
- G Damien Lewis (oblique)
- C Cade Mays (ankle/knee)
- OLB Princely Umanmielen (ankle)
Speaking of Carolina’s explosive run game, Dowdle was an upgrade on Thursday, returning to practice on a limited capacity as he recovers from his quadricep injury. He’ll be a very important name to watch on Friday as he looks to be trending in the right direction for the Panthers.
Carolina added Brown and Tremayne with injuries. Brown, in particular, is likely to perk up ears as one of the key components to the Panthers’ defense.
