Lane Kiffin dismissed reports of an ultimatum from Ole Miss on ESPN’s Pat McAfee Show on Tuesday.
“That’s absolutely not true,” Kiffin said. “There’s been no anything like that at all. I don’t know where that came from like a lot of stuff that’s out there.”
Ole Miss set an attendance record in Saturday’s win over Florida. The Rebels got out the youth basketball hoop and were throwing down slam dunks after the game. On the flip side, rumors continue to swirl that Kiffin could be the next head coach at Florida or LSU.
McAfee is not a news journalist and doesn’t make an effort to break news. He’s in it for entertainment, not pressing issues. The host never asked Kiffin directly about Florida or LSU.
He simply allowed Kiffin to talk about how well things are going on the field in Oxford.
“We’re having a blast. I love it here,” Kiffin said. “It just couldn’t be better. Like I said, you pray for things. Our fans pray for things, and now we’re in the middle of it, so enjoy it. You’re 10-1. You’ve got a bye week. You get to sit back and watch half the country lose. There’s no way we can lose Saturday. And then you play the Egg Bowl and go dominate that and keep that Egg Bowl trophy home where it’s been for a long time.”
