Garrett Nussmeier may have taken his last snap in Tiger Stadium.
Interim head coach Frank Wilson cast serious doubt about the senior quarterback’s status for Saturday as Western Kentucky visits for the final home game of the season.
“Garrett’s situation hasn’t changed much since last week,” Wilson said. “Those same issues are there for him. He’s probably doubtful. He was around yesterday and did some things in individual. But I would be…I would say he’s doubtful.”
Michael Van Buren led the Tiger offense against Arkansas and would be in line to do so Saturday.
Wilson was asked by The Advocate’s Wilson Alexander if “special” plans were being made for Nussmeier in the case that he cannot play in his final home game.
“That’s interesting,” Wilson said. “I have not thought about that. That may something we consider, Wilson. That’s a great idea.
The interim head coach entertaining the idea seriously indicates his doubtful status for Saturday.
