In Friday’s meeting, the Board of Supervisors voted to potentially send Brian Kelly a written notice of termination according to Piper Hutchinson of The Illuminator.
After less than 30 minutes in executive session, the #LSU Board of Supervisors has voted to review and potentially send Brian Kelly written notice of termination. Which seems a little late #lalege #lagov

On November 10, Kelly’s legal team petitioned for a declaratory judgement against LSU’s Board of Supervisors stating that Kelly had been fired without cause. The petition revealed that LSU had informed Kelly that he had not been formally fired because then athletic director Scott Woodward did not have the authority to fire Kelly.
The Board of Supervisors bylaws state that the Board must approve all matters of employment for coaches and athletic directors making more than $250,000 annually.
According to Hutchinson, Board chairman Scott Ballard did not answer questions regarding the reasons for Kelly’s termination.
