NEW ORLEANS, La. — While many await the results of the New Orleans Saints’ kicker tryouts, the team made a signing at a different position: wide receiver.
Per ESPN’s Adam Schefter, the Saints have signed wide receiver Samori Toure to their practice squad.
The 6-foot-1, 196-pound receiver was a seventh-round draft pick in the 2022 NFL Draft by the Green Bay Packers. He’s also spent time with the Chicago Bears and, most recently, the Denver Broncos’ practice squad.
He reeled in 13 career receptions for 130 receiving yards and a touchdown catch in 11 game appearances. During his final year at Nebraska, he led the Big Ten in yards per reception with 19.5.
Toure joins fellow wideouts Dante Pettis, Ronnie Bell and newly acquired Jha’Quan Jackson on the practice squad.
New Orleans had a full 17-man practice squad roster before the addition (including kicker Charlie Smyth who carries a roster exemption), meaning a corresponding move will be necessary.
