One of LSU’s fastest players is looking elsewhere.
Redshirt freshman Jelani Watkins is entering the transfer portal according to Hayes Fawcett of On3. Watkins, who also runs track at LSU, has played in five games over two seasons. He made a pair of catches against Southeastern Louisiana for his only recorded statistics.

Watkins was a four-star recruit ranked as a top 100 prospect by ESPN. On3’s composite ranked him as the No. 35 wide receiver in the country. He twice won the Texas UIL 6A 200-meter state title.
Watkins will have three seasons of eligibility remaining.
