Sydir Mitchell, who left the LSU football program in September, will enter the transfer portal.
Former head coach Brian Kelly announced Mitchell’s departure from LSU in September.
“We have standards that need to be met, and those standards weren’t met,” Kelly said. “Like any business or organization, you have workplace standards. Those standards weren’t met.”

Mitchell, who transferred in from Texas a year ago, never played a snap at LSU. Former LSU defensive line coach Bo Davis recruited Mitchell to Texas and then again to LSU after he made the move over in 2024. Davis left for the New Orlans Saints last offseason.
Mitchell joins Ahmad Breaux as LSU defensive linemen looking elsewhere this winter.
