No charges have been brought against LSU running back JT Lindsey stemming from his August arrest
Lindsey’s attorney Kris Perret confirmed the update to LouisianaSports.net.
Perret was notified Dec. 31 that East Baton Rouge District Attorney Hillar Moore had filed formal notice with the East Baton Rouge Sheriff and the LSU Police Department declining prosecution at this time. Lindsey is removed from his bond obligation.
“(JT) is no longer suspended from participation in team activities and looks forward to playing football again in 2026,” Perret said.
Lindsey was arrested in August on felony charges of accessory after the fact for allowing two men wanted for murder to stay in his dorm room. Lindsey was not connected to the alleged crime, and Perret said at the time the running back was unaware the individuals were accused of wrongdoing.
LSU rules mandate any student athlete charged with a felony must be suspended from team activities.
Although he was not allowed by LSU to participate in team activities during the season until his charges were dismissed, Lindsey was allowed to attend classes and use athletic facilities. He continued to train on his own and made the Dean’s List for the fall semester.
Lindsey has met with members of Lane Kiffin’s staff and is welcomed to rejoin the team.
Multiple reports Saturday indicate Lindsey will enter the transfer portal.
LSU is thin at running back with Caden Durham, Kaleb Jackson and Ju’Juan Johnson all entering the portal. Harlem Berry is the only scholarship running back currently on the roster. UC-Davis running back Carter Vargas was in Baton Rouge Saturday on a recruiting visit.
Lindsey signed with LSU as a consensus four-star prospect. He was ranked No. 132 overall and the seventh best running back in the nation for 2025.
