PHOENIX, Ariz. — The New Orleans Saints are expanding their global footprint. In addition to hosting the NFL’s first-ever game in Paris, France this season, the Saints were one of two teams awarded rights in the NFL’s newest international market: Italy.

Peter O’Reilly, the NFL’s Executive Vice President of Club Business, International and League Events, announced Monday that the Saints and Cleveland Browns have secured rights to the newest addition to the league’s Global Markets Program.
New Orleans also remains the lone team with such rights in France.
“We are excited to be awarded Italy as our second NFL Global Markets Program territory,” said Saints Owner Gayle Benson via team press release. “Italy’s passion for sport and its vibrant communities make this an extraordinary opportunity for our organization. We look forward to connecting the Saints brand with fans in Italy, strengthening ties between our regions, and creating meaningful avenues for investment that support businesses throughout our city and state.”
This furthers the NFL’s commitment to expanding promotion of American football beyond the boundaries of the country and reaching into international spaces to connect with fans outside of the country.
New Orleans is now one of several teams that have been granted marketing rights in multiple markets, placing them among the upper-echelon teams assisting in the endeavor.
