LSU will play the remainder of the season without Cooper Moore.
The junior right-hander has been out since the third week of SEC play with an arm injury that hasn’t healed to this point. He’ll be shut down Jay Johnson announced on his coach’s show Monday night.
Johnson added that Moore will be able to recoup a medical redshirt year and plans to return to LSU as a junior with MLB Draft leverage next season.
The Kansas transfer got off to a great start to the season. He was 3-3 with an ERA of 3.38 in six starts and struck out 39 batters against only seven walks over 32 innings.
Johnson said Moore’s recovery from this point will take up to four months which would allow him to join the team in the fall to begin building toward the 2027 season.
