Alvin Kamara responds to trade request rumors

NEW ORLEANS — Trade rumors around this time of the NFL season are nothing new. But some of those rumors are so unbelievable that players wrapped up in them feel the need to respond. That’s what happened this weekend with New Orleans Saints running back Alvin Kamara.

After a false report claiming that Kamara had requested a trade made some traction on social media, Kamara took the time to clear the air.

Kamara posted an additional message directly quoting the initial false post with a simple message reading “incorrect.”

The running back has made it clear multiple times that his only desire is to finish his career in New Orleans. He’s proven that tenfold this season. Before the year began, he and his team worked to secure a contract extension that would allow him to have some commitment beyond the 2024 season. That deal didn’t get done and yet, Kamara has been the team’s most consistent weapon on offense and has played through several injuries. 

If Kamara ends up headed anywhere outside of New Orleans, it won’t be from his own doing. And he has, yet again, made that clear.
