Tennessee got a commitment from Duke transfer running back Star Thomas early Sunday. The news was reported via On3’s Hayes Fawcett.

Thomas had a tremendous 2024 season for the Blue Devils, as he racked up 1,024 yards and eight touchdowns. He appeared in all 12 games for Duke and is ranked as a top ten running back in the transfer portal. He is a significant addition for the Vols, who have just two portal commitments from the current December window and are losing star running back Dylan Sampson, who declared for the NFL Draft.
He’ll have one year of eligibility remaining, as he’s the latest player to take advantage of the recent Diego Pavia ruling for former JUCO players. Thomas previously played at Coffeyville Community College and New Mexico State, before ending up in Durham in 2024.
