Brown spent the last four seasons as the Steelers’ defensive backs coach working with defenders like Minkah Fitzpatrick, Joey Porter Jr. and Patrick Peterson. He has extensive experience coaching at the collegiate level as well, spending time with various college programs from 2009-2019.
The Saints recently hired former Miami (Ohio) safeties coach Robert Blanton. Adding Brown indicates that the team may split defensive back coaching duties. Blanton could be in line to coach safeties while Brown handles the cornerbacks.
This replicates defensive coordinator Brandon Staley’s staff from 2020 with the Los Angeles Rams wherein he had designated safety and cornerback coaches.
