The New Orleans Saints will have a new offensive coordinator next season after Klint Kubiak accepted the same position with the Seattle Seahawks Sunday, according to multiple reports.

The Saints finished 21st in total offense and 24th in scoring offense in Kubiak’s lone season at the helm. Injuries to key players defined the season with quarterback Derek Carr missing seven games with a variety of injuries including a broken non-throwing hand. Taysom Hill and Rashid Shaheed were also lost to season-ending injuries. Chris Olave and Alvin Kamara also missed time.
There was no guarantee that Kubiak would have been back in New Orleans anyway. Dennis Allen was fired after a seven-game losing streak and replaced by special teams coordinator Darren Rizzi. The Saints have not named a permanent head coach, so Kubiak could have been on the market.
Of the Saints reported top choices, only Dolphins assistant Anthony Weaver is a defensive coach. Bills offensive coordinator Joe Brady removed himself from consideration Saturday, choosing to remain in Buffalo. Former Cowboys coach Mike McCarthy is expected to interview for the job this week. Giants offensive coordinator Mike Kafka has interviewed with Saints brass. Commanders offensive coordinator Kliff Kingsbury could be a target now that Washington’s season is over following their loss in the NFC Championship game to the Eagles.
Shortly after the Eagles advanced to Super Bowl LIX, Ian Rapoport reported New Orleans will interview Kellen Moore this week.
The #Eagles are on to Super Bowl LIX, and the #Saints’ head coaching search now will accelerate: They plan to conduct an in-person interview with OC Kellen Moore and likely will fly to Philly as soon as Monday to meet with him, sources tell The Insiders.

Kubiak began his coaching career in 2010 as a quality control assistant at Texas A&M. He spent time with the Vikings, Broncos and 49ers before landing in New Orleans.
Seattle finished 10-7 in 2024, narrowly missing the playoffs. Offensive Coordinator Ryan Grubb was fired after his one season with the team.
