LSU continues to add to the defensive line.
South Alabama edge rusher Achilles Woods is the newest addition. Woods spent two seasons in Mobile, redshirting in 2024. In 2025, he made 11 tackles and added a sack. He’s 6-foot-3 and weighs 290 pounds.

LSU made a splash at EDGE over the weekend adding former 5-star recruit Jordan Ross from Tennessee. Woods won’t garner that type of excitement, but he fits the mold LSU has brought in. He’s got good size and multiple years of eligibility remaining. In this case, Woods has three.
The Tigers also added EDGE Jaylen Brown from South Carolina.
LSU’s high school class is light this cycle, just 15 players. Now LSU is up to 23 portal commitments.
