Just two weekends stand between us and a magical week in Hoover, Alabama for the SEC Baseball Tournament. Several teams made big moves this weekend in some key series around the league. Here’s this week’s SEC Baseball Power Rankings.
1. Georgia
The Dawgs did exactly what they were supposed to do this weekend and swept Missouri. What was most impressive is they did it in a way that was expected. We’ve seen Missouri scratch and claw their way to a win in some games despite not winning a series outright all year. That didn’t happen in Athens. Georgia outscored the Tigers 31-7 on the weekend and run ruled them twice.
Georgia baseball has the eighth-highest Quad 1 winning percentage, according to @WarrenNolan1.

2. Texas
Texas got a huge series win at home against a Mississippi State team that was the hottest team in the league heading into the weekend. Texas’ pitching continues to be dominant despite giving up more runs than usual this weekend. They have been one of the most complete teams in the country and currently have the highest RPI of any team in the league at No. 3.
3. Auburn
Call Auburn David Blaine because I did not see that coming. That’s a terrible joke, guys. I’m so deeply sorry. Still, I did not see that Auburn outburst coming this weekend in College Station. They took two of three from the Aggies and were a double play away from potentially sweeping the series. They have the highest ranked strength of schedule of anyone in the conference at No. 17 nationally and continue to lead the SEC in team ERA at 3.36.
4. Mississippi State
I originally had Texas A&M here, but it feels like Mississippi State shouldn’t be punished for losing two of three on the road to a top five team versus the Aggies losing two of three at home to Auburn. All that and I think Mississippi State is just a better team. Their lineup struggled this weekend against a really good Texas pitching staff, but they still absolutely rake. Depending on the lineup they trot out, they have an average of seven of their nine hitters hitting over .300, and they’re one of three teams who currently rank in the top five in the league batting average and ERA.
5. Texas A&M
Even with the loss to Auburn, the Aggies are still one of the bonafide top five teams in the conference. Their RPI did drop three spots to No. 8 nationally and they’re tied for the third most Quad 1 wins in the country with 12. They also have one of the best records away from home in the country which should serve them well in the postseason if they aren’t hosting a Super Regional.
The top of the #SEC now looks like this:
Georgia 18-6
Texas A&M 15-8 (2.5 GB)
Texas 15-8 (2.5 GB)
Auburn 14-10 (4 GB)
Mississippi State (4 GB)— Kendall Rogers (@KendallRogers) May 3, 2026
6. Alabama
Alabama swept Vanderbilt and in doing so added a third sweep to their resumé on the season. The Tide have a top 25 SOS and RPI and have now swept Auburn, Florida, and Vanderbilt.
7. Florida
Florida feels like an enigmatic team still, but one thing is for certain, they have the most Quad 1 wins of any team in the country. The Gators’ 15 wins in Q1 is two more than the next closest team.
8. Arkansas
It felt like Arkansas really needed that series win at home against Ole Miss. The Hogs got a massive series clinching win in Game 3 with a walk-off bomb. Now, can they start winning consistently before postseason play or is it time for another Dave Van Horn disappointment?

9. Ole Miss
Ole Miss is a really fun team to watch, and from a betting standpoint there are few teams better in Game 2 of a series than the Rebs. Game one and three on the other hand aren’t great.
10. Oklahoma
Oklahoma is here because I don’t know where else to put them. They are the stray cat of the neighborhood. They rank ninth in batting average in the SEC and 11th in ERA. They have the third fewest home runs of any team in the league with just 48. Still, they’re better than anyone else in the bottom six as of today.
Bottom Six
- Tennessee
- LSU
- Kentucky
- Vanderbilt
- South Carolina
- Missouri
