LSU needs left-handed pitching in 2027. At least one signee will add some.
Braxton Beaty, a southpaw from Angleton, Texas, announced on Thursday that he will withdraw from the MLB Draft and enroll at LSU. He committed to LSU in October and signed in November.
Braxton Beaty (‘26) was (literally) unhittable tonight. 4 hitless frames, punching out 11. FB 90-92 T93 with deception. Wipeout SL at 77-79. Good feel for CH at 81-83. Super consistent performer with quality pitchability. No. 222 on the @PG_Draft board.#GeauxTigers commit… pic.twitter.com/OfMEhvrCPe

The Texan is just north of six feet tall and features a fastball in the low 90s. He’s got a polished delivery and profiles as a starting pitching in the future.
Beaty turned 18 in early 2026 and will not be eligible for the MLB Draft again until after his junior season if the rules remain the same.
The MLB Draft begins on July 11 in Philadelphia.
