Takeaways
The big story is what happened in the middle of the week in the LSU-Ole Miss line. LSU’s starting quarterback Sam Leavitt was placed on the initial injury report as “doubtful.” Almost everyone felt like it was a smoke screen, or some gamesmanship, from head coach Lane Kiffin. To put that in perspective though, in the two-plus years that the injury report has been posted, only 9% of players (4 out of 46) who were listed as “doubtful” played on Saturday. The line reflected that, plummeting to LSU -1 in the span of an hour, but they immediately reversed course and ballooned back to -3.
