Saints make Kendre Miller surprise healthy scratch vs. Ravens

The New Orleans Saints and Baltimore Ravens released their list of inactive players ahead of their Week 2 matchup. The Saints had a big surprise in their list, with running back Kendre Miller included as a healthy scratch.

Here is the full list of Saints’ inactives against the Ravens:

The Saints are going to lean on running back C.J. Donaldson in short yardage situations while leaning on Travis Etienne Jr. and Alvin Kamara to carry the run game.

Kamara’s return from his training camp knee injury will lead to his regular season debut and likely gave the Saints, along with the addition of Donaldson to the active roster, the fodder they felt was needed in the backfield for this game.

New Orleans will be without their rookie defensive tackle, who suffered an in-practice toe injury on Friday. That could serve as a big loss for the team’s run defense that’s now tasked with limiting star running back Derrick Henry between the tackles and beyond.

The good news for New Orleans in the defensive line is that edge defender Cameron Jordan is set to make his season debut along with Kamara, returning for the Week 2 matchup from an offseason hamstring injury.
