LSU’s search for a new system president will include a pair of former letterwinners.
Ryan Theriot and Ben Bordelon, decorated alumni of LSU, have been named to a 19-person committee tasked with finding the next leader of the Louisiana State University system.
Theriot played three seasons of baseball at LSU from 1999 to 2001 and famously scored the winning run in the 2000 College World Series win over Stanford. He would go on to play eight Major League seasons and win two World Series.
Bordelon was a four-year starter at offensive guard for LSU’s football team from 1993 to 1996. He earned All-SEC honors in 1996 and played three NFL seasons with the San Diego Chargers.
Both men have returned to South Louisiana and become business leaders in their communities.
Theriot is Executive Vice President of Parish Construction and Roofing. Bordelon serves as President and CEO of Bollinger Shipyards.
William Tate resigned his position as President on May 19 to take the same role at Rutgers.
