SEATTLE, Wash. – The New Orleans Saints have announced their inactive players for Sunday afternoon’s game with the Seattle Seahawks.
Here are the team’s inactives:
- WR Trey Palmer (Hamstring)
- WR Devaughn Vele (Hip)
- RB Devin Neal
- RT Taliese Fuaga (Back/Knee)
- OL Dillon Radunz (Toe)
- DT Kristian Boyd
- DE Chase Young (Calf)
Radunz and Young were already ruled out going into the game while Vele, Palmer and Fuaga were all questionable. Neal and Boyd look to be a part of the early-season inactive rotation.
Fuaga seemed like a longshot to play after being out for practice all throughout the week with both knee and back injuries. Having a week to rest might turn out to be the best option for the second-year tackle who has been managing injuries since the season began.
Penning is back and ready to plug in at his new starting position, left guard. He’ll make his debut there in the rainy, overcast conditions at Lumen Field. Not an ideal environment to see his first action, but he’s been clamouring to be back on the football field and will face a big test against the Seahawks’ interior defensive line. HIs physicality in the run game could be exactly what’s needed in these conditions.
Vele was assumed to be out once wide receiver Kevin Austin Jr. was elevated on Saturday. That could be a meaningful loss when it comes to the Saints’ red zone passing attack or tough third down situations.
