NEW ORLEANS, La. – After a pair of detrimental injuries, the New Orleans Saints have announced four roster moves Tuesday afternoon.
The Saints announced that they have placed both center Erik McCoy and running back Kendre Miller on Injured Reserve.
New Orleans has lost McCoy for the season with a torn pectoral injury while also losing Miller for the year with a torn ACL. Both injuries took place in last weekend’s loss to the Chicago Bears. New Orleans has a few options on its roster to help overcome the loss of McCoy, but there will be no replacing the two-time Pro Bowler both on and off of the field.
Meanwhile, rookie running back Devin Neal will be the next 2025 draft class player to see his role elevated, as he’ll become the go-to back next to veteran star Alvin Kamara. But the Saints have not stopped there at the position.
Along with moving McCoy and Miller to Injured Reserve, the Saints also announced the signing of running back Velus Jones Jr. to the active roster from their practice squad. The team also added running back Audric Estime, a strong rusher between the tackles with the ability to create after contact, to the practice squad.
New Orleans likely has another active roster spot open, however, that spot seems likely to go to defensive tackle John Ridgeway III who has to either land back on the 53-man roster by Wednesday afternoon or revert to Injured Reserve for the remainder of the season.
