It’s Senior Night for LSU as Western Kentucky enters Death Valley. The Hilltoppers are 8-2 and have a chance to win Conference USA. LSU is looking for a coach.
Still, it’s one more time for the Tiger seniors to buckle the chinstraps in Tiger Stadium. It’s one more day for the fans to unload the ice chests and fire up the pots.
The Hilltoppers come in with a potent passing offense and a putrid run defense. LSU will play its backup quarterback for the second straight game.
The 104.5 ESPN crew picked LSU-Western Kentucky. Here’s what they had to say.
Jacob Hester, Co-host, Off the Bench: Feature the RB’s Durham and Berry! 35-17, LSU.
Matt Flynn, Co-host, Off the Bench: 33-11, LSU.
Taylor Sharp, Video Producer, Off the Bench: LSU is going to finally run the ball, and Michael Van Buren is the going to make some plays. I actually think Western Kentucky will score some points, but not nearly enough. 35-17, LSU.
Alondra Villarreal, Audio Producer, Off the Bench: 31-14, LSU.
Charles Hanagriff, Co-host, Live at Lunch: My thought on the game is I hope with the implementation of the 9 game SEC schedule we never see another game like this in November. Ever. 31-17, LSU
Hunt Palmer, Host, The Hunt Palmer Show: Western Kentucky gave up 300 rushing yards on Toledo. Knock someone out of the way nd run the ball. 38-20, LSU.
Matt Moscona, Host, After Further Review: These final three games are a blessing in disguise for the next LSU head coach who gets a real audition from Michael Van Buren for next season. I think LSU will clear the 25 point barrier for the first time against an FBS opponent this season. But, covering a three-touchdown point spread? Nah. 30-17, LSU.
Matthew Musso, Audio Producer, After Further Review: Western Kentucky is 0-7 ATS in their last seven as a double-digit underdog, per Phil Steele. That’s good enough for me. 34-10, LSU.
Paul O’Neill, Video Producer, After Further Review: Not many fans will be totally locked into this game. All eyes have shifted to the LSU coaching search. LSU should have no issues with Western Kentucky even without QB Garrett Nussmeier. Whit Weeks should make a return in limited action which should spark the defense. Michael Van Buren should be able control the pace of this game on offense, and the Tigers should be able to keep the ball on the ground with Harlem Berry. 35-17, LSU.
