Baseball America names Kade Anderson Pitcher of the Year

Kade Anderson’s trophy case is filling up.

The College World Series champion and Most Outstanding Player earned Baseball America’s first ever National Pitcher of the Year Award on Thursday.

The sophomore was sensation all season and saved his best for Omaha.

He finished the year 12-1 with a 3.18 ERA. In 119 innings he struck out a national best 180 batters and posted a 0.56 ERA in the College World Series in a couple of wins over Arkansas and Coastal Carolina.

Anderson is projected as a top five pick in July’s Major League Baseball Draft.
