SEC play really cranks up next week as LSU heads to Oxford to take on Ole Miss. Saturday is a glorified scrimmage for the Tigers against an FCS team in Southeastern Louisiana.
The Lions are coached by the legendary Frank Scelfo who will have his team ready for Southland Conference play. This game is more about the paycheck than the play.
LSU should handle business routinely, so with the final score we asked the 104.5 ESON crew for something they’ll be watching Saturday Night in Death Valley.
Jacob Hester, Co-host, Off the Bench: LSU: You want to be successful in the run game? USE THE FULLBACK AGAIN. 41-3, LSU
Matt Flynn, Co-host, Off the Bench: I hope to see Michael Van Buren in the second quarter. 41-0, LSU
Taylor Sharp, Video Producer, Off the Bench: I think the LSU offense starts moving in the right direction. The Lions do have a pretty good defense, but LSU is obviously bigger, faster, stronger, and this is a game where you have to work on what you aren’t good at. The Tigers need to establish the run early and open up the passing game with some downfield shots (assuming Nussmeier is healthy enough). If you can do that then you’ll be in good shape for the rest of the season as your offense finds some momentum heading into the Ole Miss game. 38-7, LSU
Alondra Villarreal, Audio Producer, Off the Bench: Tigers are the real kings of the jungle. They need a better PR team. 50-14, LSU
Charles Hanagriff, Co-host, Live at Lunch: I’d like to see Harlem Berry, Carius Curne, and Michael Van Buren, among others…41-3, LSU
Hunt Palmer, Host, The Hunt Palmer Show: I’d like to see Harlem Berry got some carries and Carius Curne take some reps at right tackle. Those two could have an impact as the season moves forward. They need to play in games to get that experience. I’d also like to see Garrett Nussmeier hit on a deep shot. 48-3, LSU.
Jacob Beck, Audio Producer, The Hunt Palmer Show: Dear Brian Kelly, please play Michael Van Buren the entire second half. Sincerely, every LSU fan in the world. 41-3, LSU
Matt Moscona, Host, After Further Review: Two weeks ago when you played a meaningless non-conference game, Braelin Moore was injured on the first play, and you lost Trey’Dez Green to a sprained MCL. Just get out of there healthy. A few deep shots in the passing game would be nice to see also. 45-0, LSU
Matthew Musso, Audio Producer, After Further Review: I want to see LSU go out and absolutely dominate like they should. Can we learn anything from it? Probably not, but at some point, the No. 3 team in the country has to go and look like the No. 3 team in the country against inferior competition. They have not shown that yet. What I hope it accomplishes is some building of confidence. One of those ‘see you’re capable of this’ moments. Sometimes you need to name your score. This is one of those times. Build a big lead, get some younger guys extended reps in the second half and stay healthy. 44-6, LSU
Paul O’Neill, Video Producer, After Further Review: The Tigers need to find their identity on offense, and this is the game they need to do it. Get Nussmeier out the game early and keep everyone healthy. 35-7, LSU
