Lane Kiffin is looking for playmakers.
Carter Vargas averaged 6.6 yards per carry at UC-Davis in 2025 before an injury cut his season short. The 6-foot, 202 lbs., running back is scheduled to visit Michigan State and LSU as he looks for a new home.

The versatile back caught 10 passes for 177 yards and a pair of scores in eight games with the Aggies this fall.
LSU is thin at running back. Only Harlem Berry remains among the scholarship players. Caden Durham, Ju’Juan Johnson and Kaleb Jackson went into the transfer portal, and JT Lindsey has been away from the team since August.
Berry has agreed to return to LSU in 2026.
